Cardinal Hayes Students visit The Sheen Center.
"I am so grateful that 40 of our students were able to see the thought-provoking play All Our Children.
Without The Sheen Center and its generous donors who underwrote the performance, the students at Cardinal Hayes would have missed the chance to see All Our Children and be engaged and provoked to thought by the production and the discussion with the author and cast afterward."
Fr. Joseph Tierney
Cardinal Hayes High School
The quote above came to me in an email from Fr. Joe Tierney about his experience with the acclaimed play from London that just finished its run here at The Sheen Center. His story is yet another reason to Step Up for Sheen and donate.
Fr. Tierney's first trip to The Sheen Center was for the exclusive New York sneak peek screening of the inspiring hit film Breakthrough. It was an incredible experience for everyone who was there, not just because the star, director and producer were all there (along with His Eminence, Cardinal Dolan), but because the movie and discussion afterward perfectly captured what The Sheen Center is all about: programming of thought and culture with the power to change hearts and minds.
Thanks to the generosity of Sarah and Steve Columbia, we were able to have 160 students, including Fr. Tierney's students from Cardinal Hayes plus three other high schools, attend our critically acclaimed production of All Our Children during its run.
I realize not everyone has the means to underwrite the performance of a play for students, however everyone has the capacity to give, whether it's telling your friends about The Sheen Center or making a donation.
For those who can, I hope you will make a gift now and give as generously as you are able. When you Step Up for Sheen, everybody wins!
